The Quality Engineer (QE) is responsible for production quality activities within the manufacturing site and internal system for Caudwell Marine (CM). This will include working closely with all departments in Caudwell Marine. You will be responsible for ensuring that all quality concerns are reported on our internal system and drive close out with the wider quality team. You will own the quality module on our internal system and ensure this is updated with all relevant quality data and information, including RMA, CAR and inspection processes.
The responsibility of on-site quality concerns will be yours to drive close out actions along with overseeing goods inwards inspection. You will drive the implementation of the Integrated management system to include Quality, Health and safety, Environmental and other business systems. You will support the builds and carry out level 0 investigation and ensure corrective action plans are in place. You will follow a structured problem-solving process and ensure all departments are invested in the resolution and improvement. You will be responsible for internal quality related items.
Responsibilities:
- Own and maintain the Quality module on the internal system.
- Lead RMA process from initiation through to close out.
- Prepare quality reports and presentations using required data.
- Control all documentation and revision levels.
- Defining & track the correct KPI’s to ensure industry leading quality performance.
- Support the development of the supply base to ensure they fulfil the Caudwell Marine requirements across the key quality areas: delivered quality, on time delivery performance and continuous improvement as a minimum.
- Participate in BoM-wide Value Add/ Value Engineering activities.
- Review, Approve and validate 8D/NCRs permanent corrective action plans.
- Operate as part of the wider Caudwell Marine supply chain team to identify and implement best practice in pursuit of business objectives.
Previous Experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a Quality engineer role in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment
- Experience in & good understanding of problem solving.
- Have previous experience of maintaining internal (SAP/QMS) systems.
- Ideally has also worked in a Small, Medium Enterprise (SME) and can demonstrate the ability to ‘roll their sleeves up’ and personally get things done as part of a small team.

- Minimum HND in an Engineering discipline
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor

- Working Hours & Hybrid Policy: The standard working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We offer a hybrid working arrangement, requiring three days in the office, including a mandatory in-office day on Wednesdays, and two days working from home. Flexibility may be required based on business needs.
- Salary range: £48,000 - £50,000/annum
