PSK Metonym Systems Ltd is looking for qualified and driven candidates to join our team as Software Test Engineer and involves reporting to the Head of Quality. The Automation Test Engineer will be critical to the maintenance, improvement, and development of the organizations existing testing capabilities, suggesting potential process improvements and best practice. They will be required to improve the change delivery capability and focus on the quality of testing outcomes. Recent changes include a shift to Agile operations, the growth of Digital, Test Automation and greater proliferation of Cloud based technologies.
We require a person who is a proficient team member; with extensive expertise in working in a dedicated test team, utilising both manual and automated skillsets. Practical experience of test automation tooling including Selenium and Cypress is essential. They should assist and mentor a team of Automation engineers within a collaborative, Agile environment.
The ideal candidates will need to be educated to UK equivalent of Bachelor 's Degree or related technical field to be able to apply for this position.
The Role:
The role is primarily based in the London however, you may be expected to travel other parts of UK to our client’s premises where your IT expertise is required.
Employment Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Annual Salary: £38,000 to £42,000 depending on experience
Responsibilities:
- Develop and configure test automation networks and execute stability and performance testing.
- Coordinate with product management and software and support engineers to deliver stable enterprise software products.
- Develop appropriate test automation scripts, applying the latest techniques in software testing on cloud based (Microsoft Azure cloud) customised solutions.
- Write and execute appropriate test cases and test plans for the Microsoft Azure cloud based implemented solutions.
- Use risk-driven techniques to develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites. Responsible for the reporting of defects in a timely and proficient manner.
- Work with developers and DevOps engineers in planning, designing, and implementation of testing frameworks on cloud based platforms.
- Strong Experience and Proficiency in using Selenium, TDD, BDD, Cucumber, Gherkin
- Must have strong coding skills in C, Java, Python and Ruby
- Strong Experience and Proficiency in writing Java codes to automate the test
- Ability to set and build automation test processes
- Planning and running of end to end test cycles, including Sprints, SIT’s and UAT
- Gathering functional requirements from a test strategy perspective
- Ability to develop test automation frameworks
- Bring in continuous deployment practices to enhance our Agile posture
- Where assigned, serve as the owner of quality within the development stream, taking ownership of execution of all required testing.
- Routinely keep the project team, Senior Management Team, and other interested parties informed on testing progress and status.
- Responsible for the triaging the defect and test automation reports in a timely and proficient manner
Technical skills required:-
- Automation Testing experience essential
- Ability to develop frameworks using Cucumber, Gherkin, Selenium, WebDriver
- Continuous integration of testing strategies using automated scripts development using core Java, Cucumber-JVM and Jenkins
- Ability to auto deploy, distribute and execute the testing frameworks using Git, BitBucket and Jenkins
- Experience with Git and Atlassian toolset
- Experience with test automation tools Selenium Webdriver or Cypress io including NUnit testing framework or similar.
- Experience of programming or scripting languages (C, Python, Ruby, Java).
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration using Team City or similar.
- Manages and maintains effective communications with team, peers and internal Solutions management
- Demonstrable experience in manual testing tools (TestRail), practices, and principles
- Demonstrable experience in automated testing tools (Selenium, Cypress), practices, and principles
- Experience of testing web-based systems
- Experience of testing API’s
- Experience of performance testing tools (Jmeter, Octoperf)
- Experience of using Javascript for test automation
- Superior analytical & problem-solving skills
- Is an effective communicator, able to liaise with both customers and suppliers and represent Client to an external audience using a range of tools
