Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Lead Barista/Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our establishment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of customer service and food hygiene while managing staff and resources effectively. This role requires strong leadership skills and a passion for speciality coffee and quality bakery products as well as the ability to maintain a welcoming environment for both customers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop operations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
• Prepare and serve beverages to an excellent standard, showing mastery of coffee techniques including espresso, latte art and other speciality drinks.
• Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock accuracy.
• Supervise and train staff in drinks preparation and customer service excellence.
• Implement effective time management strategies to optimise workflow and productivity.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop, ensuring a safe environment for staff and customers.
• Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly, providing excellent service at all times.
• Liaise with Company Directors regarding financial reports, inventory reports and performance evaluations of staff, providing feedback and support for professional development.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Training in both HACCP and COSHH is desirable but can be provided if necessary.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Adequate maths skills for managing inventory, orders, and financial transactions.
• Proficient in POS systems and cash handling.
• Exceptional communication skills to foster teamwork and enhance customer relations.
