LondonEnergy operates the second largest waste contract in the UK, handling and processing nearly 750,000 tonnes of London’s waste every year. We have a dedicated team of people working across our various North London sites, making a positive difference to the environment and the local community.
By processing household waste at our facility, we produce enough waste from energy to power 80,000 homes every year and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres.
About the role:
As the CAD & GIS Technician you will join our Capital Projects team, supporting- the development, maintenance, and management of spatial data and technical drawings critical to our infrastructure and operational projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for updating CAD drawings and updating our 3D BIM models, managing and creating GIS datasets, and ensuring the accurate representation of infrastructure assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain CAD drawings for infrastructure and operational projects.
- Update and maintain the 3D BIM Models
- Manage and update GIS databases to ensure accurate spatial data representation.
- Ensure all CAD drawings and GIS files are accurately saved, organized, and catalogued in the appropriate directories, following company standards and ensuring easy retrieval for future reference.
- Work with LEL’s stakeholders internally and externally to develop useful visualisations for training, learning and education purposes.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, and operational teams to support project deliverables.
- Promote safety, equality, and confidentiality while working proactively with departments to achieve LEL’s annual plans, ensuring at least three days onsite per week.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in CAD drafting, GIS mapping, and BIM modelling.
- Proven experience working independently without constant supervision.
- Strong understanding of UK standards (BS 1192, ISO 19650) and spatial data management.
- Ability to self-manage workload, prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality technical outputs.
- Knowledge and Qualifications: HNC/HND (Higher National Certificate/Diploma) or BTEC Level 3/4 in a relevant field OR Bachelor’s Degree (BSc/BEng) in Engineering or another relevant discipline
