Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council are seeking to recruit a number of Catering Assistants to join our Catering Services on a casual basis.
We are recruiting to casual posts, meaning you will work as-and-when needed by the service based on your availability, allowing you to fit work in with your other commitments. Many of our permanent members of the team started with us on a casual basis and enjoyed it so much that they then applied for permanent roles within the service.
If you would prefer to work a fixed number of hours per week, we are also recruiting for contracted hours Catering Assistants here.

We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly and hardworking individuals to join us in providing high quality, delicious and healthy meals to a number of schools in our borough as well as catering for cafes at popular spots including Preston Park and Wynyard Woodland park.
What will you be doing?
You will be preparing and serving food to students / teachers or members of the public and making sure kitchen and dining areas are clean and tidy.
What do you need?
Previous experience would be advantageous but is not required - just a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, good standards of hygiene, the ability to be organised and able to work in a hot kitchen environment.
As the roles available involve working in schools, you will also need to undergo safeguarding checks including an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
