We have a great opportunity on offer to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Feltham, working as a Functional Skills English and Maths Teacher. This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hrs per week.
Novus are a leading provider of prison education and have been supporting men, women, and children of all ages for over 30 years across the UK to take new directions. Site information
HMP Feltham, officially known as HM Prison Feltham, serves as both a Young Offender Institution (YOI) and a juvenile prison. It accommodates males aged 15-21 who have been remanded in custody or sentenced. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society. Feltham is committed to providing a safe and educational environment where young people and adults can learn new skills in custody to help them on release.
What the role entails
As a teacher, you will develop and deliver high quality, learner-focused education to meet contractual requirements and standards, in line with Novus policies and procedure; supporting learners and colleagues alike to ensure the best outcome for all who work within our sector. The following qualifications are listed as essential on the role profile. However, there might be options available for applicants with a suitable skillset and level of experience to apply and complete qualifications while in-post:
- Teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
- Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/ Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or commit to work towards within a specified timeframe (Applies to Teachers in YOI only)

Successful candidates will be offered a salary between £29,047 - £38,124 per annum, plus £5000 LWA payment (FTE), dependent on your level of qualification and experience.
