We are looking for passionate, dedicated, and experienced Autism Practitioners to join our team at Prior’s Court, where we support young people with autism and complex needs to thrive and live fulfilling, independent lives.

We are hiring for both Level 2 and Level 3 positions, offering opportunities for both experienced practitioners and those looking to progress in their careers.

  • Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience
  • Hours: 37 hours per week

The Role

As an Autism Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting young people from the time they wake up to the time they go to bed, helping them develop essential life skills and preparing them for a positive future both within the community and after their time at Prior’s Court.

  • Use schedules, visual structures, and communication systems to support task completion.
  • Implement and support the delivery of This Is Me plans for each individual.
  • Provide personal care in line with specific care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records in Prior Insight and support learning activities.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed to keep young people safe.
  • Administer medication and manage health, hygiene, clothing, and finances.
  • Maintain contact with families and key stakeholders.
  • Follow risk assessments and ensure cleanliness, safety, and team morale.

Essential experience and qualifications

  • At least 2 years experiences in health and social care
  • Level 3 diploma in residential childcare OR degree in psychology or mental health OR equivalent qualification
  • Awareness of autism and/or special complex needs.

We offer a direct-to-site transport service for our Autism Practitioners, with pick-up and drop-off points in Oxford, Newbury, Thatcham, Reading, Swindon, & Basingstoke.

Work schedule

We operate a rota based on a rolling pattern of early and late shifts throughout 52 weeks of the year, including weekends and public holidays. Our early shift starts at 7am and finishes at 4pm and our late shift starts at 2pm and finishes at 10pm.
