An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic IT Support Engineer to join our team at Vertigo Solutions Ltd. Now in our 23rd year, we are a well established and successful IT solutions provider.
The successful candidate will have experience in an IT support helpdesk department, MSP Environment with experience working across multiple client infrastructures and an approachable and welcoming attitude with both customers and colleagues.
As a proven IT Support Engineer, you will be in contact with our customers on a daily basis and provide pro-active, friendly support to them, seeing their tickets on our helpdesk system through to resolution. You will be proactive and keen to learn and understand things that you have not previously encountered. Where necessary, you will closely work with your colleagues in a cohesive environment to pool experience and share knowledge. You will also conduct site visits to our customers; both scheduled maintenance visits and ad hoc visits when required.
You will have experience in the following areas:
- Active Directory and Office 365 administration - creating new users/resetting passwords as required
- VoIP Platform management - updating extension information and assisting users with setting up WebEx and Office UC
- Backup management and reporting - checking backups daily and reporting any failures, troubleshooting and resolving backup issues.
- Providing support for our clients both remotely and on site, for both Windows and Mac environments, domains and workgroup environments.
- Configuring, installing and managing Firewalls, Routers, VoIP telephones and other network equipment - we work with a variety of Vendors including Cisco, Fortigate, Unifi, Zyxel and Draytek
- Physical and virtual server administration - failover cluster manager/ Hyper-V/ESXI, performing updates and maintenance both remotely and on-site, including at our colocation cabinets
- Basic Linux administration, performing updates, setting up new hosts for web hosting and managing LAMP (Linux/Apache/PHP/MySQL)
- Server Migrations
- Assisting in project work
- Assisting in hardware/software procurement
There will be a written technical examination upon interview to test knowledge on firewalls, networking (including VLANs), virtualisation, AD, DNS, DHCP & SSH. A successful candidate will have to pass these exams to continue with the application process.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
