The Old Smithy is a well-loved, independent cafe nestled in the heart of Beeley. Known for our warm hospitality, quality ingredients, and locally inspired dishes, we’re passionate about delivering memorable dining experiences in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

We’re now looking for a Kitchen Assistant or Sous Chef to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to further their career in a friendly, fast-paced kitchen with room to grow.

Responsibilities:

• Support daily food preparation and service
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
• Assist the Head Chef with food prep, plating, and service
• Contribute ideas for menus and daily specials
• Ensure consistency and quality in every dish
• Help manage stock and kitchen organisation

What We’re Looking For:

• A passion for food and a strong work ethic
• Some kitchen experience preferred (not essential for Kitchen Assistant role)
• A team player who thrives under pressure
• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
• Flexibility with working hours, including weekends and holidays

Pay: £12.50-£13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
