Are you an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer eager to enhance your skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment?

The Telemarketing Company is looking for a proactive IT professional to provide 2nd-line support for our IT systems, ensuring smooth operations and contributing to key infrastructure projects.
In this role, you’ll focus on 2nd-line support for BAU operations and infrastructure initiatives. As part of a small, agile team, you may occasionally assist with 1st-line support. There will also be opportunities to expand your expertise and progress towards 3rd-line support and beyond.

Hours: 9am to 5.30pm (Monday to Friday)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per year depending on skills and experience.
Location: Brighton / Hybrid*.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2nd -line support across a range of IT systems, ensuring efficient resolution of incidents and service requests.
  • Support BAU operations and contribute to infrastructure projects as requires.
  • Assist with 1st-line support in a flexible team environment when required.
  • Work within an ITIL framework to ensure timely resolution of incidents and problems, meeting defined SLAs.
  • Proactively identify and resolve IT issues to enhance service efficiency.
  • Participate as a resource in IT projects, contributing technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
  • Take part in the on-call rota as required to support business operations.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Previous experience in 2nd Line support role with exposure to both BAU and project-based work.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of:
    Microsoft Windows 10, 11
    Microsoft Server 2016, 2019, 2022
    Microsoft SQL Server
    Microsoft 365
    DHCP and DNS
    VMware ESXi 7.x and up
  • Good understanding of networking principles and technologies
  • Storage infrastructure configuration, management and support
  • Understanding of firewalls / UTMs
  • Understanding of SIP / IP telephone systems
  • An understanding of Back-up technologies (Veeam, Symantec Backup Exec etc.)
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management principles
  • Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple responsibilities
  • Eagerness to develop skills towards 3rd-line support and broader IT infrastructure responsibilities.
