We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Landscape Estimator & Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates and budgets for landscaping projects, analysing project specifications, and ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality. You will play a key role in managing project finances, forecasting costs, and contributing to the successful delivery of landscaping projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimating:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bids for landscaping projects based on designs, client requirements, and market trends.
  • Analyse project drawings and specifications to determine material, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Quantity Surveying:
  • Measure and quantify materials and resources required for projects using industry-standard techniques.
  • Monitor project costs and expenditures, ensuring alignment with the budget.
  • Perform cost analysis and value engineering to optimize resources and reduce waste.
  • Project Collaboration:
  • Work closely with clients, architects, designers, and project managers to develop feasible project plans and timelines.
  • Maintain communication with stakeholders to provide regular updates on cost estimates and budgets.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and legal requirements.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry standards and pricing trends.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project reports, records, and documentation.
  • Provide financial forecasts and cash flow predictions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Landscape Estimator or Quantity Surveyor, preferably in landscaping or construction.
  • Strong knowledge of cost estimation methodologies, material pricing, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in using estimation software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD)
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with sustainable landscaping practices and environmental considerations.
