Job description

We are working with a client who is seeking a recently graduated Infrastructure / Civil Engineer to join their highly regarded Infrastructure Team. The successful candidate will work on a range of projects spanning residential and commercial sectors, providing engineering design and client support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in early-stage feasibility studies, influencing masterplans through to planning, detailed design, and construction phases.
  • Work on multidisciplinary projects, collaborating with internal and external consultants and design teams.
  • Produce designs for highways, streets, drainage, flood risk assessment, surfacing, and earthworks, ensuring compliance with technical standards and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to project success through work-winning activities, managing workload, and assisting in budget control.

About the Team:

  • A multidisciplinary engineering consultancy focused on projects in South West England.
  • The Infrastructure Team, primarily based in Cornwall and Devon, works remotely with regular in-person meet-ups, fostering strong team morale.
  • The team comprises six members with varying levels of experience, providing strong support and mentorship opportunities.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • BEng, MEng, BSc, MSc, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering with at least two years of industry experience.
  • Strong collaboration skills for working with clients and design teams.
  • Knowledge of UK legal processes and procedures for planning approvals.
  • Experience in engineering levels design, drainage design, and Section 38, 278, and 104 adoption procedures.
  • Familiarity with design codes such as Manual for Streets, DMRB, Local Authority Design Guidance, and Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance.
  • Ability to create drawing packages for project cycles and technical approvals.
  • Proficiency in technical software such as Causeway PDS, Flow, and AutoCAD.
  • Eagerness to develop and improve skills.
