Job description

Clive Miller Planning Limited is expanding and looking for new associate planning consultants. Working on a freelance and fee sharing basis, this role would suit those local authority planners and planning consultants who are looking for a career change and want greater flexibility in their working lives.

You would enjoy the autonomy of self-employment; choosing your own hours, controlling your volume of work and managing your own case-load but within a supportive environment where all client related admin functions are undertaken for you.

The successful applicant(s) will join an established team working on a wide range of planning projects primarily within the South West. CMP has an excellent reputation and a very loyal client base.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the planning process, including communicating with clients, providing planning advice, and offering consulting services to ensure successful planning permissions are achieved.

We will need you to have: -

  • A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning, or similar

  • 5+ years professional planning experience,

  • Excellent project management and organisational abilities to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Effective verbal communication skills for collaboration with clients, technical specialists and team members.

  • Strong report writing skills to communicate complex information clearly

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications

  • Full driving license and means of transport

  • Access to suitable IT and communication equipment

The role will be primarily home-working based although there may be an opportunity to work from our Langport office on an ad-hoc basis. There would also be the opportunity to attend regular team meetings to discuss ongoing cases, policy and legislative changes and other relevant professional matters.
