About The Role:

This is a general call for applicants to join our staff pool.

We are seeking vigilant, dedicated and ideally vetted and licensed Security Officers to join our staff pool.

Successful candidates will be offered positions as they become available.

Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our premises, staff, and visitors. This role requires keen observational skills, a proactive approach to loss prevention, and the ability to respond effectively to incidents as they arise.

As a Vedette Security Officer, you may be offered any one of a variety of roles including but not limited to static security guarding, crewing a high visibility mobile and alarm response vehicle or retail security.

You can generally expect to be required to work shifts.

DUTIES

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will most likely include, but will not be limited to:

Static security roles:

  • Monitoring and patrolling designated areas to prevent theft, vandalism, and other security breaches.
  • Operate and maintain CCTV systems and surveillance equipment to ensure comprehensive coverage of the premises.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify potential insecurities and security risks.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, providing first aid assistance and liaising with emergency services when necessary.
  • Maintain a site log
  • Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, observations, and activities for management review.
  • Provide excellent customer service by being polite, smart and professional at all times and by addressing queries from staff and visitors alike in a supportive and efficient manner.

Mobile security roles:

As for Static Security Guards, plus:

  • Driving a marked company patrol vehicle around a pre-determined patrol route
  • Checking the security integrity of client sites and addressing any concerns.
  • Responding to tasks from the Security operations Centre, including attending intruder alarm activations.
  • Provide the Security Operations Centre with regular reports and updates via radio, security app and mobile, regarding all site visits, events and occurrences.
  • Have a basic understanding of vehicle mechanics.

The ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
  • You will be required to undergo screening and vetting (BS7858)
  • Possession of a valid SIA licence is desirable but not essential as training may be provided for the right candidates.
  • Previous experience in security or loss prevention is preferred but not essential.
  • Familiarity with CCTV systems and surveillance techniques is advantageous.
  • First aid/medical responder qualifications are desirable; training may be provided for the right candidates.
  • Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert at all times.
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English is required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Computer literate
  • Possession of a full driving license is desirable for static guards and essential for mobile patrol officers.
  • Able to interact at all levels from visitors to senior management.
  • High standards of personal presentation

Job Types:

Permanent, temporary, part-time, flexible hours and freelance.

Pay

£13.08-£14.37 per hour dependent on role (between approximately £28,000 and £37,000 per year for full time roles)
