Senior Sous Chef at Horsley Lodge
Location: Horsley Lodge, Derbyshire
Position: Senior Sous Chef
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Horsley Lodge, a stunning venue nestled in the heart of Derbyshire, is looking for a passionate and talented Senior Sous Chef to join our award-winning kitchen team. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional dining experiences with fresh, locally sourced ingredients in a relaxed yet elegant setting.
As a Senior Sous Chef , you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operation and ensuring the smooth running of daily services. You will work with a dedicated and experienced team to create innovative menus and maintain our high standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Supervise, mentor, and motivate the junior kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food production and cleanliness.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, food safety regulations, and company policies.
- Support stock management, including ordering and maintaining accurate stock levels.
- Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
- Lead by example, maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-end restaurant or hotel kitchen.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
- Passionate about food with a strong understanding of seasonality and high-quality ingredients.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative, with an eye for detail and a desire to develop your culinary skills further.
